the eye catching and provocative artistic interventions of spanish collective, luzinterruptus has always been intriguing. their aquatic installation ‘portable river’ running down a street in caracas is no exception; bringing an in-you-face awareness of one of the most fragile eco systems of our time into urban consciousness. the metaphoric power of this installation of 2000 illuminated bags is further amplified by the spectators taking bags of river water home with them, also highlighting the issues surrounding ownership and privatization of resources.
