my appreciation for the work of mariano fortuny y madrazo extends well beyond his fashion, fabrics and lighting; most of all to his cultivated manner as one of the important reformers of the applied arts. born in granada and educated in paris and venice, where he ultimately settled, fortuny had an illuminated insight which fed on the influence of the times and created him a fitting title : the last renaissance man.

Since it’s nearly impossible to gauge each individual’s level of sensitivity or stupidity, I’d rather play it safe and classify this site as suitable for adults only. Although that term is still nebulous to me, the responsibility remains that of the viewer.
