helen sobiralski‘s photography is the edited version of the fairy tale. she combines or in some cases dismantles her subjects into an aesthetically provocative narrative. It’s like staring at the looking glass from the other side. components of fables and folktale are re-assembled to invite a closer look into this heavily textured work and its components. it may be that her melancholic interpretations and work inspired by history could be a bit challenging but her more simple arrangements possess an intriguing existential edge that combines the older eye with a newer vision.

Since it’s nearly impossible to gauge each individual’s level of sensitivity or stupidity, I’d rather play it safe and classify this site as suitable for adults only. Although that term is still nebulous to me, the responsibility remains that of the viewer.
