photographer michael eastman‘s interior shots of cuban decrepitude and decay left a lasting impression on me… i’ve always loved the vintage nostalgia of havana and eastman succeeds in bringing new perspective on the subject by infusing the images with a saturated tropical light. the inspirational neglected look of departed glamour remains a strong theme in my work… i could always blame it on my dusty post-colonial milieu but the truth is that i’ve often found a profound lack of charm in perfection.
