wilhelm lucas von cranach (1861-1918) produced these thrillingly precious nouveau creations as the re-invention of fantastical sea creatures, insects and other flaurana that were so distinctive and exemplary of his time. although his work also included various more decoratively stylized pieces, it’s the ones that threaten to spring to life that amazes me most.
