Victor Horta (6 January 1861 - 8 September 1947) was not the timid type, expelled from the music school in ghent for bad behavior, he thankfully followed his senses to paris and became a pioneer in manipulating metal and glass for his architectural fantasies… later at the belgian university he resigned after not being included for the design of the building extensions there, also soon after being elected as president of the central society of belgian architecture, he left the prestigious post due to a dispute about a kindergarten commission. his legacy of bringing art nouveau to architecture and his passionate progressive vision is what resonates most with me…
