ironically the louvre in paris will see the islamic department’s collections displayed under the ingenious golden veil of the architects at mario bellini and agence rudy ricciotti. despite france’s hajib politics, the vastly important islamic collection has found a much deserved new home in the cour visconti where, rather than concealing the facades, they will remain visible through the undulating carpet of diffused transparency while the collection will be housed on two inter-connected levels - a contemporary and respectful solution to a historic situation.
