franco moschino’s passion for fashion was undisputed. his disdain for the industry, equally so. he used to parody high-brow brands like chanel by emblazoning designs with provocative statements. in an industry dominated with the fickle and humorless he was a spark of delight. his energy infused design not only rebelled against the serious couture set, but spread messages of peace, love, environmental awareness, AIDS and racism. with a surrealist twist often embedded in his work, he was as much about art as he was about fashion. some of my favourites from his few years as head of the (anti-)couture house. forever moschino.
